EU TeqGames Open Day Sparks Excitement in Zagreb
On May 18, 2024, European Square in Zagreb buzzed with energy as over 120 children officially participated in the EU TeqGames Open Day. This vibrant outdoor event not only engaged participants but also attracted the curiosity of passersby, inviting them into the world of Teq sports. Children aged 6 to 17 took part, with 75% of the participants being male, enthusiastically exploring various Teq sports, including Teqball, Teqvoly, Teqpong, Teqis, and Qatch.
Despite the challenges of hosting an outdoor event, organizers successfully included a short yet impactful talk on nutrition. This session, complemented by the distribution of over 300 pamphlets, provided valuable health information to participants, parents, and interested onlookers.
In collaboration with the Croatian Teqball Association, the event ran smoothly from 10 AM to 12 PM, offering visitors a fantastic opportunity to learn and play Teq sports. The enthusiasm among participants was palpable, with two individuals expressing interest in training just an hour after the event concluded, underscoring the immediate impact of the Open Day.
Approximately 100 children and teenagers participated in the games, along with around 50 adults. Experts were present to explain the benefits of Teqball for both physical and mental health, offering advice on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Informative talks emphasized the importance of incorporating sports into daily routines, while the nutritional leaflets provided practical advice on balanced diets, healthy meal examples, and tips for both children and adults.
These collective efforts not only promoted Teq sports but also contributed to the overall health and well-being of the community.
To further enhance outreach, a series of dynamic promotional videos featuring highlights from the Open Day were produced. The European Multisport Club Association (EMCA), as the project coordinator, created an engaging video showcasing the excitement and community spirit of the event, shared across all their social media platforms. HAŠK Mladost contributed two impactful videos: one detailing what Teqball is, how to play it, and how to participate in the project, and another short, energetic promo video. Other partners also shared their own videos and photos from the Open Days, all available on their respective social media accounts.
