Deliverables of the project
This report presents a collection of best practices for integrating TeqSports—particularly Teqball—into multisport clubs. Based on feedback from club coordinators, coaches, and athletes, the report highlights successful strategies, common challenges, and practical recommendations drawn from real-life implementation across Europe. Emphasising flexibility, collaboration, and gradual integration into existing divisions, the findings show that while there is no one-size-fits-all approach, combining TeqSports with similar traditional sports and engaging youth through schools can significantly boost participation and long-term development.
Report summarises how partner clubs developed Teqsport training sessions and formed teams after the Open Days in March and April 2024. Using different approaches—through schools, existing sports divisions, and community events—clubs introduced Teqball to young athletes and built their teams.
Despite varying resources and participation levels, most clubs successfully established teams, leading to strong representation at the first EU TeqGames tournament in Piraeus. The report reflects on challenges, successes, and key methods used in this crucial project phase.
The nutritional guidelines provided during the EU Teq Games Open Days emphasized the importance of maintaining a balanced diet to support active lifestyles. Participants received informative materials highlighting key components of healthy eating, including the benefits of consuming a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. The guidelines encouraged young athletes to stay hydrated, particularly during physical activities, and included practical advice on healthy meal options and snacks. Workshops facilitated engaging discussions on how proper nutrition can enhance performance, recovery, and overall well-being, empowering participants to make informed choices that promote a healthier lifestyle. By integrating nutrition education into the Open Days, the initiative aimed to instill lifelong habits that contribute to both physical and mental health.
The Online Coach Certification Course is a vital component of the EU TeqGames project, designed to equip coaches with the essential knowledge and skills to effectively teach Teqball and its variants. This comprehensive course offers a flexible learning environment, allowing participants to access training materials and resources online at their convenience. Covering topics such as the fundamental rules of the game, coaching techniques, and strategies for promoting inclusivity in sports, the course ensures that coaches are well-prepared to foster a positive and engaging atmosphere for players of all ages and abilities. Upon completion, participants receive official certification recognized by the International Federation of Teqball (FITEQ), enhancing their credentials and empowering them to lead training sessions confidently. By investing in coach education, we aim to promote high standards in Teqball coaching, ultimately contributing to the growth and popularity of the sport across Europe.
As part of the EU TeqGames project, we have successfully developed and translated comprehensive rules and regulations for TeqBall into multiple languages, including Bulgarian, Croatian, Italian, Danish, Dutch, and Greek. This collaborative effort underscores our commitment to promoting the sport across diverse communities and ensuring accessibility for all participants. By providing these translations, we aim to facilitate a better understanding of the game’s structure and guidelines among players, coaches, and enthusiasts from various cultural backgrounds. This initiative not only strengthens the foundation of TeqBall as a recognized sport but also enhances engagement and participation in the upcoming EURO Teq Games, fostering a spirit of inclusivity and unity among TeqBall communities across Europe.
The EU TeqGames Open Days were a dynamic and engaging series of events held across various partner clubs, designed to introduce participants of all ages, genders, and abilities to the exciting world of Teq sports. Coordinated by the European Multisport Club Association (EMCA), these Open Days successfully attracted over 1,224 attendees who had the opportunity to try their hand at multiple games played on the innovative Teq Table, including Teqball, Teqvoly, Teqpong, Teqis, and Qatch. The events took place in diverse settings, from schools and sports club facilities to lively outdoor squares, creating a festive atmosphere that fostered community spirit. Each Open Day not only focused on skill development and enjoyment of the games but also included important health and nutrition workshops. Participants learned about the benefits of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, encouraging them to make informed dietary choices. The success of these Open Days not only increased interest in Teq sports, particularly among boys for Teqball and girls for Teqvoly, but also helped inspire many children to join the clubs and prepare for the upcoming EURO Teq Games.
The first EU TeqGames took place in Piraeus, Greece, on October 19, 2024, at the Peace and Friendship Stadium, showcasing the growing popularity of Teqball in Europe. The tournament attracted top athletes from six European countries and featured competitions in various categories, including men’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles. Lazio’s team emerged victorious in both singles and doubles, while Hask Mladost claimed the title in the mixed doubles category. The event not only highlighted the competitive spirit of Teqball but also reinforced the bonds of cooperation among participating countries, emphasizing the values of sportsmanship and collaboration. The successful tournament marked a significant milestone for the sport and set the stage for future Teqball initiatives in Europe.
